We all wear masks, and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing some of our own skin.

~André Berthiaume, Contretemps

I've noticed that most of the time I am either dressed like a slob or wearing a uniform, which isn't exactly how I want it, but is also kind of what I want. Oh, I don't know. What I do know, though, is that it's my mom's birthday this Friday, which would give me the opportunity to dress up.

We don't have free dress day in school. Or, we do, but we don't have class on that day.

Oh, by the way, I'm thinking of shopping in the kids' section for Burberry trench coats. I should seriously give that a try. Now if only we have Burberry here.

Because yes, I have to.
No, the picture is not mine. Though I would honestly love to have the coat.

I love Karlie Kloss

by Hanneli Mustaparta, January 2010

I'm digging into the dusty shelves of the fashion industry and this is what I found.

I love Karlie. I swear I do. I don't know why.

We are, in truth, more than a half of what we are by imitation.

~Lord Chesterfield

Not saying it's a bad thing, I just find that this coat from Bird by Juicy Couture:

$800 at Net-A-Porter

reminds me a bit too much of these:

Style.com
Style.com
Style.com

Not that it's a bad thing, really, all I'm saying is...honestly I don't know what I'm saying. I guess the Bird by Juicy Couture collection is kind of nice and I would probably love to get my hands on them – that is, if they came free. I'm also thinking I could probably get those clothes cheaper from other shops. They look a tad too plain for my taste.

I think I would drool over this, though.

$600 at Net-A-Porter
...if I didn't see one like it at Mango for $140 a few months back.

And besides, if I had $800 lying around, I would rather buy this...

$795 at Nordstrom

...and die of the heat because I live in the tropics.

I'll probably settle for this:

Nummy nummy. $795 at Nordstrom

I think P&G did a good job on this collection, though. I honestly don't think it's too pricey, and it's nice and chic (that coming from someone who loves to wear black all the time) and a nice change from the pastel colors (and sometimes horrid combination of such) from Juicy Couture.

I wish they sent me those, too.

I heart Christopher Bailey

A title that's not a quote, because no quote can describe how I feel.

I've noticed how I've always been partial to Burberry Prorsum stuff. Not that it's been going on for a long time, because I've only started becoming aware of this world last year. But this is what started it all:

I've gone past the heel stage and went back to comfortable shoes with flat soles, but I still want that. I would trade my college education for that.

No, I'm kidding. But I do want them so bad.

Then when I saw these, I started to want them, too.

This pair from Topshop reminds me of those.

Minus the crystal thingies stuck to the sides of the heels. And the wedge heel. It makes for a good "inspired by" item.

I'm staring at Style.com's Fall 2010 Top Ten Collections. Not that we have fall here, but hey, I can still admire it. Burberry Prorsum is there. Also, I'm looking at the catalog on the Burberry website and, damn. I want all those coats. I'm willing to get a heat stroke just so I can wear those coats.

These are my personal favorites:

Because no one does military like Burberry.

It is the chiefest point of happiness that a man is willing to be what he is.

~Desiderius Erasmus

Here's one of the outfits I wore on Friday when I went out with my best friend. The other one was the romper get-up on the previous post.

You can't really see it because I'm only the worst photographer around (I swear, when I get a better room arrangement, it'll improve) but I'm wearing a lacy top, liquid leggings and my trusty Dr. Martens. The purse is an LV Musette.

Also, Toby Regbo:

The most exhausting thing in life is being insincere.

~Anne Morrow Lindbergh

The few shots I promised:

Aren't they bad? It's what you get when you have a cramped room and you keep everything a secret. :)

Also, I think I need these in black and brown:

I'll be that stereotypical kid who wears Dr. Martens 24/7. Even when she sleeps.

Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry

But why on earth should that mean that it is not real?
~Albus Dumbledore, King's Cross (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, ch. 35)

I still don't have my USB cord, and unlike Tavi I don't have a scanner to curl up in a fetal position on, but I do have PhotoBooth.

mine.

I've been reading and rereading and rereading it over and over again, because we didn't have class this week and I couldn't bring myself to ride to school just to stare at people do stuff I can't relate to.

That's my hair, yeah. It blends in with the rest of the cover.

Somehow I'm actually kind of excited to watch HP7, because it takes us far away from the typical Hogwarts scene and out on the field. Also, we get to see these guys:

not mine.

Judging by what I've read, I don't think they'll get that much screen time, but I sure hope Grindelwald stealing the Deathstick from Gregorovich is emphasized.

Gosh I felt like a geek typing that. And "Deathstick" is funny.

I'm also looking forward to this guy and his character's back story (though I'd have to wait a year for that):

not mine.

I love Snape. I swear. If I could marry him, I would. I cried when he died, and I've been rereading The Prince's Tale over and over again.

I also find it hard to imagine Alan Rickman in other roles. For the record I have seen him in films other than Harry Potter, and the first film I saw with him in it wasn't Harry Potter anyway. It was this:

Oh yes.

I'm a 90's kid. I gotta watch this again.

I've also seen him in Love Actually, and I enjoyed watching it, too. Which is kind of weird on my part since I find most British movies boring (no offense). I never really found Hugh Grant funny. I find Alan Rickman funny, though. I also find it kind of weird because I don't think he's trying to be funny.

I also find it weird that I keep repeating "also", "kind of" and "weird". Weird.

I'm getting tired of it. Moving on.

This Friday – tomorrow – I'm going to be watching a fashion show with my high school best friend. Except it's not really a fashion show. It's more like a mock fashion show held by their university. Why I am going to watch it I have no idea, but I suppose it will be fun. Plus, a lot of people in that university went to the same school as I did in high school, and I even got to spend it with them.

As opposed to my prestigious school that does not have most of my high school classmates in it.

I wanna go to medical school already.

I heard a rumor that you quit this day and age

~ The Killers, The World We Live In

I still believe that I was born in the wrong time. Back when teen drama was at its prime I was watching Looney Tunes. Now that I'm old enough to watch and comprehend them, most of the "best TV shows" are either cancelled or...cancelled. And all I am left to watch are these:

I suppose that explains why I stopped watching TV when I was in high school.

Well, I did, back when my cousin's room had a TV, which was around a year and a half ago and lasted for half a year.

I watched Music Television.

I guess I'm lucky to have been alive when MTV was all about music. Now it's around 1.5 hours music followed by 12 hours of this:

Oh God, really.

Seriously.

I wish I was a college student when shows like Felicity were on, or at least in high school when Freaks and Geeks were on.

Or I could have just been old enough to understand this when it aired:

The closest I got to see was this:

Maaaan how I loved Britney.

All the pictures don't belong to me.

The past is strapped to our backs. We do not have to see it; we can always feel it.

~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic's Notebook, 1960

I took pictures of myself, and when I did I remembered that I forgot the USB cord at home. I'm currently in my flat, which is kind of my house, but not my home. Cheesy.

I don't have a card slot, which means I have absolutely no way to show you those shots. They were boring anyway.

So instead I'll just share with you what I've been doing other than taking boring pictures of myself, with pictures that don't belong to me.

I never got to watch this because I was born around the time Justin Timberlake joined, and we didn't have Disney Channel where I live when they showed the reruns.

I never really got to see this either.

I remember my older sister (b. 1989) and her obsession with this movie. She cut up all the newspapers featuring posters of the movie and filed them in a shoe box. Damn.

My parents told me this is the first movie I have ever watched.
That's all for now, til I get my USB cord.

Oh, yeah, before I leave:

Watch THIS.

Video killed the radio star

The image is not mine, nor do I take credit for it.

I told my parents I wanted a radio because I was fed up with the "everything at your fingertips" lifestyle.

And another thing, we watched Cats and Dogs 2: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. It pales in comparison to the first one. Unless you have nothing else to do, don't watch it. It was pretty boring. But I suppose it's kind of the trend these days; G-Force was in the same mold, too.

When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.

~ Charles A. Beard
